Second Annual Millionair Club Charity Day and Christmas Eve Celebration for Seattle's Hardworking Homeless Community

SEATTLE, WA, December 25, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Millionair Club Charity (www.millionairclub.org), a non-profit committed to serving Seattle's working homeless community, today celebrates its official second annual "Millionair Club Charity Day" recognized throughout Seattle and Washington State. The non-profit spends the day preparing for one of its most festive events of the year, Christmas Eve, when it will serve hundreds of hearty, holiday meals to Seattle's most needy community members.

For the 88th consecutive year, The Millionair Club Charity invites the homeless to come for a holiday celebration on Christmas Eve, December 24th from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. PST. In celebration of the season, The Millionair Club Charity dining room will be festively decorated and serving traditional food favorites such as, oven roasted turkey, country smoked ham, herb-seasoned stuffing, candied yams, dinner rolls and pumpkin pie topped with vanilla ice cream. The Millionair Club will also be giving out a gift to each person attending the meal from donated holiday items such as, winter jackets, gloves and scarves, as well as school supplies to any children at the celebration.

"This truly has been a tough year for everyone. Due to the economic disaster, the high unemployment rate and loss of homes to foreclosure has increased the number of homeless exponentially," said James Miller, Executive Director for The Millionair Club Charity. "Our mission to foster dignity by providing a nourishing hot meal, hygiene center, eye care clinic and day labor opportunities for the hardworking homeless to get back on their feet and be part of this community couldn't be more important as times only get tougher."

The Millionair Club Charity is a non-profit supported solely by private donations, with no reliance on government funds, taxpayer dollars, or United Way funds. Thanks go out to DIADORA for donating more than $19,000 in apparel, and SeaShare and Schwan's Foods for individually contributing more than $10,000 in food this season. As well as a special thanks to all of the generous giving from private donors in Greater Seattle for making every meal and supportive service possible.
