Fast Transact's Annual PCI Report on Level I Compliance Recognized by Visa USA
Fast Transact Inc., the largest retail and Internet payment processor in Washington State, is proud to announce its 2nd annual recertification through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
LACEY, WA, July 15, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The PCI DSS originated in late 2004 as the result of Visa (CISP), MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and JCB combining their individual policies to store, process, and transmit cardholder data. The program outlines both industry-wide regulations and sub-requirements designed to safeguard and prevent sensitive cardholder information from being compromised.
Fast Transact received its Acceptance of PCI Report on Compliance Letter from Visa U.S.A. on June 30, 2009 and is once again on Visa's List of Compliant Service Providers. The List of Compliant Service Providers, located at (www.visa.com/cisp), acknowledges service providers that have shown their commitment to security by meeting the rigorous set of 12 industry-wide requirements of Visa CISP.
"Our merchants entrust us with their most precious data, the customers' personal credit card information," said David Solomon, CEO/President of Fast Transact. "The need for fraud prevention in the bankcard industry has never been so critical and we recognize that protecting a customer's card transaction from a security breach is an ongoing practice that doesn't end. That's why our staff is extremely diligent when it comes to strengthening our own security infrastructures and why it's such a key focus for our entire company."
"In keeping with the PCI DSS theme of best practices for protecting cardholder data," added Anna Solomon, Fast Transact's Vice-President, "We have developed a brochure 'The Practical PCI - 10 Points Toward A More Secure Business' and are currently conducting PCI Compliance training for local merchants within the Puget Sound area. Many business owners are still not aware that these standards exist and we believe a proactive approach combined with training sessions help to answer questions about full compliance."
Fast Transact undergoes a yearly security assessment for all components of the PCI security policies and standards. This includes a full audit and approval of information storage and transmission data to guarantee the use of secure encryption methods.
