Nextrials Joins IHE; CTO Robert Barr Added to the IHE IT Infrastructure Planning Committee

TACOMA, WA, March 25, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Nextrials, Inc. (www.nextrials.com), a leader in clinical research software and services, today announced that it has been approved as a member organization of Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) International (www.ihe.net). This volunteer-led nonprofit industry association currently has more than 200 member organizations committed to improving the interoperability of healthcare information systems. Through workshops, webinars and demonstrations, such as the IHE North America Connectathon, IHE and its members work to accelerate the adoption of electronic healthcare records with the goal of improving the quality, efficiency and safety of clinical care.

In tandem with its approved membership, Nextrials CTO Robert Barr joins the IHE IT Infrastructure Planning Committee. The committee is tasked with developing specifications and standards to ensure interoperability among many standards currently in use within the healthcare and pharmaceutical R&D communities.
