Lehigh Valley Health Network Identifies Medication Improvement Opportunities with Sentri7 and Quantifi
Sentri7 combines the real-time data necessary for clinicians to make well-informed decisions about patient care in a timely manner

BELLEVUE, WA, March 25, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) has joined the growing list of hospitals that have implemented Sentri7 - a system that allows hospital-based pharmacists to cross reference patients' health information with the medication patients are receiving to ensure optimal care.

With Sentri7, clinicians have a single point of access to lab results, medication records and patient demographics, data that currently reside in different systems. Clinicians can write rules against the data to identify at-risk patients.

With Sentri7, LVHN pharmacists can access real-time lab data to determine if a drug dosage adjustment is needed based on the patient's kidney function and consult with the attending physician to adjust the order. They can also determine if a switch to a lower-cost medication with the same effectiveness can be performed.

Quantifi then allows LVHN pharmacists to document those clinical interventions, adverse events and adverse drug reactions quickly over the internet or on a handheld computer through a series of menus, drop-lists, and input screens, collecting crucial event data easily. Quantifi users then have the ability to follow-up on their reports or the reports done by their peers. Administrators can easily generate executive level reports and detailed managerial reports to support clinical and quality improvement activities.
