C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation Wins Multi-Year Grant
Lesher Foundation Grant Supports San Pablo C.A.S.T. Fishing Event through 2010

RENTON, WA, March 27, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Dean & Margaret Lesher Foundation of Walnut Creek, CA, awarded a 2 year grant to the C.A.S.T. "Catch A Special Thrill" for Kids Foundation in support of its fishing event for local special needs children on the San Pablo Reservoir of Contra Costa County, CA. This award will support the costs of equipment and administrative services of the event for 2009 & 2010.

The Dean & Margaret Lesher Foundation enhances the quality of life in Contra Costa County, California, through charitable giving to support education, the arts, and children & families.

The C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation, located in Renton, WA, and in existence since 1991, provides a quality outdoor recreational experience for disabled and disadvantaged children through the sport of fishing. The C.A.S.T. Program specializes in allowing special needs children an opportunity to learn fishing techniques and environmental stewardship while being out on a boat all at no cost to their family. The C.A.S.T. Program hosts over 60 events in 30 states annually and continues to grow an average of 10 new events per year. The Foundation's second program, Fishing Kids, hosts urban youth, ages 5-14, on local Washington waterways for on-shore fishing. Overall, the C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundations allows over 12,000 children each year an opportunity to fish through its two programs.
