Pennsylvania Hospitals Select Sentri7 to Improve Infection Prevention
Sentri7 to continually monitor for and notify staff of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) to protect patients and to assist in state-mandated public reporting

BELLEVUE, WA, January 29, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Pharmacy OneSource, Inc., software as a service provider to more than 1,300 hospitals in the United States, announced today that a group of nine Pennsylvania hospitals has chosen to adopt Sentri7 to improve infection control and prevention.

Sentri7 is a surveillance system that continuously analyzes data stored in disparate clinical information systems and highlights at-risk patients in a password-protected dashboard, aiding in early intervention. The dashboard is organized to assist staff with the goal of reducing infections for more patients. With Sentri7, hospital staff members are also able to review patients' various lab results in an easy-to-read format.

The hospitals will use Sentri7 to help comply with the Pennsylvania state mandate requiring hospitals to report their healthcare-associated infection data.

"The reports generated by Sentri7 will save us countless hours currently needed to sort through patient data," said Lisa Knaak, Director of Infection Control at Easton Hospital. "By interfacing with multiple clinical systems, Sentri7 will allow us to generate clinical rules that can assist in compliance with Pennsylvania's Act 52 and other infection prevention best practices in real time."

The Pennsylvania hospitals adopting Sentri7 include Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, Easton Hospital, Phoenixville Hospital, Brandywine Hospital, Chestnut Hill Health System, Jennersville Regional Hospital, Berwick Hospital Center, Lock Haven Hospital, and Sunbury Community Hospital.

"We are very excited that these Pennsylvania hospitals have chosen Sentri7," said Keith Streckenbach, Chief Strategy Officer of Pharmacy OneSource. "We look forward to working with each facility to help them get the most out of their current IT systems, comply with the Pennsylvania mandate, and ultimately improve patient safety."
