Pharmacy OneSource Launches SPEAK Initiative to Promote Medication Safety Awareness
SPEAK to collect and disseminate pharmacy experience and knowledge

BELLEVUE, WA, December 03, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Pharmacy OneSource, Inc. today announced the launch of a new initiative to focus public and industry attention on medication safety awareness. The official kick-off of SPEAK will occur during the American Society of Health-system Pharmacists (ASHP) 2008 Midyear Clinical Meeting, to be held December 7-11 in Orlando, Florida.

"SPEAK" stands for "Sharing Pharmacy Experience and Knowledge." Healthcare professionals can visit the official website, speak.rph.com, and submit actions they or their organizations have taken that successfully prevented or reduced the risk of medication errors. These error reduction actions will be posted at speak.rph.com and shared with Pharmacy OneSource, which also may present them in future newsletters.

At the ASHP 2008 Midyear Clinical Meeting, attendees visiting the Pharmacy OneSource booth will receive a free custom-designed SPEAK medication safety awareness pin. For each pin distributed, Pharmacy OneSource will donate one dollar to the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP).
